Hello! My name is Leah Catherine and I am a Christian Country Gospel Writer & Singer that hears songs from Heaven!
I have been writing songs my whole life. In amongst writing, recording and leading worship for different churches, festivals and home groups, I love to write special occasion songs that honor God and bring joy to my friends and fans.
These are songs that beautifully capture the essence of a relationship and have a strong testimony of love for each other and Jesus.
I only have time for a select number of songs I can write per year; and I would love it to be for you and your special day!
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of songs do you write?
I write Christian country/ gospel/ folk/ pop. You can let me know what artists or song styles you like and that can help me determine how to write your song. Each song will be between 3 and 5 minutes long and equally beautiful regardless of its length. The length varies based on content and style. I always try to use a scripture reference and perhaps a favorite saying or memory of the client. I am writing from a Godly love point of view. I will not write any songs with sexual inuendo or anti-Biblical sentiment.
2. How long does it take to get a finished song?
It takes a minimum of a month to write and record a song...longer is better. Sometimes inspiration comes quickly, sometimes it takes awhile. I never want to rush the process of delivering to you a beautiful heaven-inspired song. I spend time in prayer, in the presence of the Holy Spirit, I spend time in the Bible choosing a verse or wording, and I use all the information you give me to draw on for inspiration. This is not a "cookie-cutter" song, it is a song that is truly one of a kind and designed for you only.
3. How do we get started?
To start you will fill in the survey on the next page (click the purple button). I will ask basics like name and email address but also what kind of song you want, who it is for, deadline etc. This process is not for everyone, and I only have time for a few songs per year, so this is basically a screening process to see if we are a fit. I am a gospel and God-centred writer so this may not be for you! But if we are a good fit we will set up a time to talk and brainstorm ideas. Once we have agreed to go forward, you will send me a deposit of 60% of the cost and I will get started!
4. Can I make changes to the song?
Once I have written the basic song and melody, we will set up another time to talk so you can approve or ask for changes. This is the time to let me know what you think and whether it is saying everything you want it to say and meeting your expectations.
Once you approve then we record the song either very simply with a guitar or piano and voice or with a full band and backing instruments.
5. In what format will I receive it?
We can send it to you as a WAV file or MP3. We will also mail a CD. Obviously, you can play the complete song at your event but if you have a live band/ singer we can send the chords, words, or even the karaoke backing tracks so they (or you!!!) can sing to the tracks. Serious fun!
6. Can I share it with others?
Absolutely! Please feel free to post to social media (or website or whatever you like), use it to make a wedding video and/or give it away to each of your guests either via CD or digital track download. Please note: I will retain the writer's royalties and copyright so if I ever choose to sing it and put it on an album I can.
7. What does it cost?
There are different prices depending on which options you choose (happy to discuss). It takes significant time, effort, and talent to create an outstanding song for you and it is priced accordingly.
For the basic 1st tier of writing a custom song for your event based on your input, input from Heaven, and a simple vocal plus guitar or piano recording, it is $1500 CDN. Please note I work in Canadian dollars and rates fluctuate so please find out what the exchange rate is for your country. If you would like a full backing band or orchestration it will be costed based on your desires.
8. What other options are there?
There are many other options such as song duets, creating a logo for your wedding, creating CD art or song art to show as the song plays. Lyric videos are also possible. We can also do a bulk press of the CDs for you so you can give one to each guest to keep forever. Please write all your questions down and we can discuss on the day of the consultation.
